sergeant hutchings: school zone, or cross walk, or whatever your name is. come in here.
me: *walks into his office* yeah sarge?
hutch: say "10-4, 1009".
me: what? why?
hutch: just say it.
me: 10-4, 1009.
hutch: you're going to make a great dispatcher. 1136.
me: 1136?
hutch: you need to practice saying the time whenever you stop talking. that's all dispatchers do. 1137.
me: try saying "irish wristwatch" fast.
hutch: is that some kind of code word?
me: no, just try saying it. it's hard.
*hutch tries, but it comes out sounding like "irish wishwash"*
hutch: damn, that is hard. 1139.
